Udayapur is a beautiful district of Province No.1 located in eastern part of Nepal and it’s headquarter situated in Triyuga Municipality. Udayapur has four municipality (Katari, Chaundandigadhi, Triyuga and Belaka) and four rural municipality (Udayapurgadhi, Tapli, Rautamai and Limchungbumg). It is truly beautiful and famous for its natural resources all over the world. It is very rich District in cultural heritage. It has diverse cultures, religions and geography. Udayapur district is located in the bank of Triyuga River. Radha Krishna Mandir, Rauta Pond (Rauta Pokhari), Chappan Waterfall, Dhimki Temple Bisanpur Park, etc. are the famous places near Gaighat Bazar. Rautamai Temple and pond is one of the famous tourist's destination of Udayapur and also represents Udayapur to all over the world. Rauta Pokhari is situated at the height of about 2000 ft. from sea level. The pond has its own religious significance.

Udayapur covers 2,063 km² (797 sq. mi) area of Nepal. According to census year 2068, It has the total population of 317,532 consisting of male 149,712 and female 167,820. Triyuga municipality is the third largest municipality of Nepal having the area of 547.43 sq. km and also the largest of province no.1. Udayapur district is a valley of Nepal and also popularly known as the Udayapur valley.

Udayapur is a truly an amazing and best district of Nepal. It is separated  by natural border with rivers and hills. Koshi river is a border to separate it from Sunsari District and Dudh Koshi river is also a border to separate it from  Bhojpur and Khotang.
